Bad fruit gives clue to meaning
Q: I had a dream that someone gave me a bag of groceries. As I was taking the food out of the bag, there was a fruit that looked like a pomegranate. A piece of the top of the fruit was missing. There were what looked like berries inside. They were blue and looked like raspberries. There were parasites or worms inside the fruit. I dug out the fruit and put it in a sink to wash the worms out. Then the alarm went off, and I woke up.

A: In our dreams, food represents knowledge. Just as food nourishes our physical bodies, knowledge nourishes our minds. Parasites represent habits that take from us. These can be physical habits such as choosing not to follow through with what you say you are going to do, and they can be mental habits such as putting yourself down. This dream is a reflection of ways the dreamer allows habits to spoil opportunities to receive knowledge. There is a desire to eliminate the unproductive habits, which is reflected in the act of putting the fruit in the sink with the intent of washing it. It might be helpful for someone who has a dream such as this to consider what habits are taking away from their experiences and make different choices in the future.
